Before I give you the prompts, I want to touch base on why journaling is so important!
- It helps you process. It can give you a deeper understanding and give you a clear understanding of what’s at hand. This is can be really important for those crazy emotions! (And if you need some guidance on accepting your emotions click here.)
- It helps you de-stress. Writing in a journal is like talking to a bestie. They just don’t talk back and sometimes we need that! Plus the self-care/self-love aspect is an added bonus.
- It helps you stay grounded. Meaning that you won’t just freak out, at a moment’s notice, because you have something that helps you cope.
There are so many other reasons and you might have your own reasons. For me, I love to write. I’ve always been that way. And writing for me makes it easier to express myself. Which is probably why I can text books to people! Lol! Anyway, before I give the prompts let’s talk about digging past the surface.
Digging past the surface is important to your personal development, to your emotional and mental health, and just to yourself in general. Let alone what it can do for your community. I truly believe we walk around in society wanting deep connections but we don’t know ourselves well enough to provide a deep connection back. Keeping us all at surface level. It’s possible to change that. How can that be done?
- You want to be open to it.
- You have to be willing to know yourself. All of yourself. All your demons, all the ugliness, all the blessings and all the good. Otherwise you will never understand the person across from you.
It sounds strange but that’s how things work. You have to know yourself before you can know anyone else. The more you know, understand and accept yourself, the easier it is to do the same for others. Which in return creates positive change. A healed society. A healed community. A loving community. An accepting community.
You can chase after external change all you want, but it will never happen, unless we start digging deep in ourselves first. And these journal entries will help you start digging deep!

- Write about an ex and forgive them right then and there
- Something I did today that I am proud of.
- List ALL your accomplishments.
- If you could change the world what would you do? Why?
- List 3 favorite people in your life.
- If you could redo life, would you? Why?
- What does a day of fun look like to you?
- List one challenge you have overcome. How did you overcome it?
