Discovering You: The Epic Benefits of Self-Discovery

Are you feeling lost?

Are you feeling like you have no idea what you’re doing with your life?

Do you feel like you're unsure of yourself like you don't fully trust yourself?

Are you feeling like you need a change, want a change but have no idea where to begin?

You’ve come to the right place, my friend.

I used to feel all those things and more!  Lost and completely out of my mind… suicidal thoughts, haunting memories, feeling like I didn’t know myself.  I felt like an imposter.  I was entirely successful on the outside, but I was dying on the inside.  I wanted to change, but I had no idea where to begin…

Until I finally did begin.

About 4 years ago, I started the self-discovery journey when I decided I had enough.  I began to grieve the death of my second step-father- thinking that was my problem.  As I traveled further along in this self-discovery journey, I learned his death was only the beginning of what I was unleashing.  It was a rollercoaster of a ride, but today, I'm here, writing this blog, reaching out to you, letting you know it’s possible to figure yourself out.  It’s possible to not feel like an imposter, trust yourself, find your passion and purpose, and love and accept yourself.  It’s also possible to make the changes you want in your life!  How do I know it’s possible?  Because I’ve lived it, breathed it, and made it happen in my life over and over and over again.  Until we’re here at this moment.  Where I love and accept myself, I’ve healed from my past, traveled the road of self-discovery, and finally stepped into my personal power!

I am here!  You are too! Which means you're searching for more, aren't you?  Searching for you, I'm sure.

I have answers for you!

In this self-discovery self-help blog, learn what self-discovery means, how you can start this amazingly beneficial journey and what the major benefits of knowing and understanding yourself can do for your life.

What is self-discovery?

Self-discovery is a journey that helps you peel back layer after layer to reach the core of you.  The truth of you.  The you, you’ve forgotten.  The you, you’ve rejected to survive.  What do I mean by that?  Fragmentation is the term for this, specifically, but this is what happens.  The second we come out of the womb we're conditioned- scheduling, what we wear, etc.  Or even deeper, in my case, you’re not allowed to feel, you’re not allowed to have emotions and feelings.  Because they don’t matter.  So, what happened?  I rejected that part of me as an emotional being to survive.  When you're on the road to self-discovery, you learn aspects about yourself that you rejected to survived and start pulling those pieces back in.  That is the true you.  The core of you! The you, you had forgotten.  (Moms, please understand it doesn’t make you a bad mom.  It’s something we have to do.  My daughter has been on a schedule the moment she arrived.  Some conformity is necessary.  It’s the nature of the beast.)

What happens when you’ve discovered yourself?

Crystal clear clarity.  Yes, that's right.  You may not know everything, but you know who you are, what you want from life, your strengths and weakness, and where you're headed in life and which direction to take.  You learn to trust yourself and what you're about.  Everything is so clear in your life that you can't be stopped.  No matter what’s going on.

Self-discovery can seriously change your life.  Wake you up from auto-pilot and turn you on to the present, yourself and your life.  There is no better feeling than waking up knowing who you are, what you’re about, and how to be happy without chasing sh*t.
